CONFIDENT IN GOD

WHEN YOU TRUST GOD, NO ONE CAN HURT YOU:

1 John 4:17 In this has this love been brought to its goal with us, that we have boldness in connection with the day of the judging because even as that One is, we on our part also are (although still) in this world. (Lenski) [1]

1 John 2:28 And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him at his coming. [29] If ye know that he is righteous, ye know that every one that doeth righteousness is born of him. (KJV)

A Review of God's Love Perfected in the Believer

This is the third of three objectives of God's Love in us.[2] Lenski calls them the goals of God's Love. This is taken from the original teteleiotai which means "...that which is complete or fully developed, reaching its intended goal." [3] The first objective of God's Love is found in 1 John 2:5 where the believer is obeying the Word of God. The very first act of obedience the believer has performed was that of obedience to the Gospel. This obedience has its beginning in the New Birth and continues in obedience to God's Word in the Christian walk - John's reference to guarding God's Word. Please note the passage in 2:28, 29. John always has in the background of his epistle the beginning of this Christian walk as starting from the New Birth. The first objective of God's Love is met when we come to Him in repentance and confess our need of a Savior and as a result of our conversion we keep on guarding His Word. This is the first objective of God's Love.

Paul expressed it this way: "But thanks be to God that, though you used to be slaves to sin, you wholeheartedly obeyed the form of teaching to which you were entrusted." (Romans 6:17, NIV ). Obedience to God's Word started at conversion and continues throughout one's Christian Walk.

1 John 4:11 Dear friends, since God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. [12] No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

The second objective of God's Love is found in 1 John 4:12 where believers are to express or demonstrate God's Love among one another. John puts a special conviction on his assertion that we Love one another in this text. He is essentially saying "since God greatly Loved us with infinite intensity we should Love one another with that same intense, enormous Love - His Love. Here, for example, is where the Christian marriage has a distinct advantage over the marriage between the unsaved. When a marriage relationship is strained over a conflict between the egos of the partners, a battle between the two could ensue. The unsaved have no resources other than love that marriage offers and their ability to resolve the conflict amicably through mutual compromise. The Christian marriage has in addition to the love that is found within it the power of the Love of God that is in the hearts of each spouse. Christian marriage has the resources of God's Love as found in 1 Cor. 13 and Galatians 5 to bring the two egos under control of the Holy Spirit and thus, to resolve any conflict in such a way that a wonderful testimony toward each spouse is presented and also to the children. In fact, conflict in a Christian marriage can be a blessing as the children see Christ's Love being manifested such selfless resolution. The same can be said for any Christian organization or the local church. Any time God's Love resolves conflict within Christ's Body - God's Love is presented to those believers involved in a very unique way. The world, also, can benefit from such a testimony.

Confidence at the Judgment Seat of Christ

The third objective of God's Love is found in 1 John 4:17, 18, our present text. God's Love properly exercised, produces a confidence within the soul of the believer. This confidence is the result of the communion that the believer has had down through his years of walking with Him.

Hebrews 4:14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. [15] For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are--yet was without sin. [16] Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need. (NIV, my emphasis).

Please reference this passage to 1 John 2:1, 2; 3:19-22. Prayer, for example, is not the "real thing" until we are willing to bring our whole life before Him. This confidence that the writer of Hebrews speaks of is that of a believer who is entirely honest with himself and the Lord. Prayer is a very important part of God's Love. Confidence does not come from "magic bullet" passages of scripture quoted to a believer who is having great difficulty and looking for a "quick fix." No. Confidence comes from a life-time of deep commitment to the Lord in study of the scripture, "passing the tests" of applying God's Word to life's circumstances and close communion with Him. It means a life-time of obedience to His will in every area of our lives.

Comments on "The Day of Judging." The first application of this term brings to mind the Return of Christ where all believers will be ushered into the presence of Christ - and well it might. John certainly believed in the imminent return of Christ and looked forward to it - but he and the other apostles certainly knew that death was the probable way that believers would be ushered into this "day."

Hebrews 9:27 And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment:

Hebrews 10:30 For we know him that hath said, Vengeance belongeth unto me, I will recompense, saith the Lord. And again, The Lord shall judge his people. [31] It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.

God holds all men accountable to His Lordship. To the unsaved, Christ offers no protection from the raw unadulterated wrath of God, for they have rejected the saving work of Christ on the cross - their judgment will be hell. For the saved, the day of judging is different. Christ will be able to present all believers spotless to the Father (Eph 5:26, 27). However, there are those who are saved who have not followed the Lord in faithful discipleship. The scriptures given above apply particularly to believers. The writer of Hebrews was concerned with believers who were considering renouncing their relationship with the Lord and returning to the "legal" religion of Judaism. The author points out the severity of judgment that will fall on any who would abandon their Lord and fall back into a life of denying Christ.

Paul's Commentary:

Romans 14:10-12 But why dost thou judge thy brother? or why dost thou set at nought thy brother? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. [11] For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. [12] So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God. (KJV).

But He does expect more than a casual relationship from every believer - the believer will face what is frequently called the Bema Seat of Christ - where all actions especially those of service to the Lord will be brought into accountability. Paul makes a very important point here and that is this: no believer will be ushered into eternal bliss who has not bowed the knee to His Lordship. Positional truth must never be used to give the believer an option of full service to the Lord (Rom 12:1, 2) or a casual relationship with Him. No! We all must give an account of our obedience and loving service to Him - period. The time spent before our Lord in this judging will, for some be wonderful vindication - for others painful realization of their neglect of and restoration to their Lord as sovereign in their lives - see also 1 Pet 4:17, 18.

Dying Grace:

When the final "test" of facing death comes, the Lord has a special confidence for the believer who has been committed to the Lord - let us call this confidence "dying grace." Here's what the psalmist says about the Lord's attitude concerning the death of a child of God:

Psalm 116:15 Precious in the sight of the LORD is the death of his saints. (KJV)

A life-time of grace being poured out on the believer comes to the head when a child of God is dying. God freely gives His grace to His dying child. The Lord seems more precious than ever before. Scripture verses come into focus that didn't have a great deal of meaning until then. Loved ones for whom our dying saint has been praying become even more of a burden - Love for them becomes very intense! The energetic Love of God must shower His Grace and Mercy a dying saint as his death is that precious in His sight.

1 John 4:17 In this has this love been brought to its goal with us, that we have boldness in connection with the day of the judging because even as that One is, we on our part also are(although still) in this world. (Lenski, my emphasis)

DUST WE CAME AND DUST SHALL WE RETURN

DUST WE CAME AND DUST SHALL WE RETURN; ALL BEAUTIES FADES IN THE GROUND. WHY? SIN CAME INTO THIS WORLD THAT PUT MEN TO THE RISK OF DEATH...
And the LORD God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul.

In the sweat of your face shall you eat bread, till you return unto the ground; for out of it were you taken: for dust you are, and unto dust shall you return.  gen. 3:19

Romans 5:12 Therefore, just as sin entered the world through one man, and death through sin, and in this way death came to all men, because all sinned—

Corinthians 15:47 The first man was of the dust of the earth, the second man from heaven

Genesis 2:7 the LORD God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.

Genesis 18:27 Then Abraham spoke up again: "Now that I have been so bold as to speak to the Lord, though I am nothing but dust and ashes,

Job 4:19 how much more those who live in houses of clay, whose foundations are in the dust, who are crushed more readily than a moth!

Job 34:15 all mankind would perish together and man would return to the dust.

Dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return - God had said that in the day they ate of the forbidden fruit, dying they should die - they should then become mortal, and continue under the influence of a great variety of unfriendly agencies in the atmosphere and in themselves, from heats, colds, drought, and damps in the one, and morbid increased and decreased action in the solids and fluids of the other, till the spirit, finding its earthly house no longer tenable, should return to God who gave it; and the body, being decomposed, should be reduced to its primitive dust. It is evident from this that man would have been immortal had he never transgressed, and that this state of continual life and health depended on his obedience to his Maker. The tree of life, as we have already seen, was intended to be the means of continual preservation. For as no being but God can exist independently of any supporting agency, so man could not have continued to live without a particular supporting agent; and this supporting agent under God appears to have been the tree of life (clarks commentary) Genesis 2:7

SHE MURDERED HIM

Sixteen years ago Glen ment a beautiful young woman about 19 years, in the Island of Jamaica. At that time Glen was a thirty five years old millionair. He was told my his parents not to marry this girl because her background was filthy. Nontheless, Glen went and eloped in kingston Jamaica, without any family member at his wedding. Two weeks after that he moved into his father's home because it was big enough to live and have a family.

This young lady name lazy, she was just like Delilah, my reason for saying this, Delilah asked Sampson for his strength, Lazy asked Glen how much money does he have.? For years this beautiful light skin women is just taking Glen for a ride with her wants and deceptions. She always comes up with a story, by saying, she is going to the united States to study and she needs fifty thousand dollars, or she is attending some Christian's school in Manchester. But, what is ugly about this girl, she is a corn-artist.She knows how to friend up Glen and sweet talk him into giving thousands of dollars. Five Years after glen married to Lazy, she came up with this idea that she was invited to England to meet with a friend who promised her to opened a hair dressing business in London, Glend gave her two hundred thousand dollars to go to England, when she got there, she stopped with a friend of her mother for few days, then branched off to an hotel in western Manchester.

One morning she went for breakfast at the hotel, met a twenty seven years old man, they fell inlove. Lazy called Glen up on the phone, she says, " Hi sweethear, how are you? oh I missed you so much, I just wish you were here with me darling. I'm just had breakfast, and about to take a shower , after that I'll be going to meet with Mr. and Mrs. William about renting the place for our business. If everything is ok, I'll let you know immediately. If not, I'll still call. You know Glen, I have no idea that I was deeply inlove with you until I got to London." Glen over the phone, "Yeah, sugar, I love you too. I told you the first day I cast myeyes on you I knew you were my wife." " I see." Glen, continues, " Oh well, baby all I got to say is this, You do what you got to do and come home, sound and safe. Tomorrow I'll be going to Mo-bay to meet a friend. I wish you were here to go with me babe; by the way, say hi to your friend. And take all the time you need, I'll be here." Lazy, " Ok my love."

Lazy spent over six months in England with the young man she met at the hotel, she gave him thirty pounds from the money she took to London to open her business. Nontheless, the young man got her pregent and dissappered in thin air. Lazy knew that she was pregant, she when back to her husband, slept with him, a month later she told Glen she was pregant for him. Glen loved her so much, whatever she said, goes. Glen was happy about her being pregant, he gave her ten thousand dollars to shop for baby clothes in Christiana.

What happen to the business in London, its not spoken of,the great excitement of Lazy been pregnant, over-shadowed Glen 's eyes. She banked the money she took to England to opened business and there was know questions about it from Glen. Oh,well, time has come for Lazy to deliver her baby, she was sent to one of the most ellegant and expensive hospital in Mandeville to deliver her baby. So, who was in the delivery's room, Glen. Had know idea that the child that he is spending all this money on is not is. The child was born, Glen named her "Gleanoi" Glen fell in love with his' daughter, he carred her everywhere he went from a young age until she was able to go to basic school in Jamaica.

Lazy murder Glen with the things she is doing to him and he settled for it. So Glennoi reached Elementary School age, Lazy boarded her out in private School in Kingston, Jamaica. Glen, took sick, elven years after Leonni was in school, he was a great farmer, in yams, bananas, and cattles. Ms. Lazy, asked him to sell all he had and gives her the money; Glen went ahead and did it.  actually, Glen even abused his parents verbally for Lazy, when they were asking her, to spend more time with her husband and her husband because he was ill. Glen, say these words to his mother, " I'm a old gray ass man, I'm not a child, so mother, I do not need your advice. I knew, for a long time that you really despised my wife; what do you want be to do, devorce her? such thing I'll not do so you can leave my life alone and forcast on your children." Oh well, Glen"s mother said, " my son the evil you done will live after you.

Glen was very sick with pneumonia, during this time; he was admitted in the hospital, to be treated. Glennoni grew up, wants to become a doctor. Lazy, received monthly support from her boyfriend in England for Glennoi. Glen knows nothing about this boy friend in London; the only thing he knows, is how to support the "barstard" child Glennoi.  Glennoi accompany her mother to see her  father's Glen. When she got there her father was very low  in his spirit, he could hardly talk to anyone, because he had shortness of breathe, due to his sickness he turned all his assette  over to Lazy went home and told her mother Sharon , who is the mouth piece for the city. Glen spent many months in the hospital, he lost hundreds and thousands of dollar to pay for his sickness in St Jude's Hospital.

During his illness Lazy was going out on different dates, and at the sametime corresponding with her british Boyfriend. She would not allowed any of Glen's family to visit him in the hospital, only her male, and female friends. Notwithstanding, Glen has an aggressive sister in the States,  named Kate, when she heard of Glen illness, she flown home to Jamaica to see her brother. When she got there, her brother was very happy, he said, to Kate, " what took you so long? he hugged her across the neck and began to cry. As of that day Kate visited the hospital, Glen made a great changed. He was high spirited, talking about his childhood days and salvation. He remembered how he and Kate, used to picked  on children  when they were hungry and ugly.

Oh well,  few day past by when kate was there.  Glen got worst, his wife asked the doctor to give him  20 mg of morphine, plus other pain meds, to control pain.  She conspired with the doctors and nurses to keep Glen on the pain medication until he died. So, they did. After Glen's death, Lazy  had a poor funeral for him, she bought a cheap packaged from the funeral home, that was used for the burial.

Lazy, hurrily laid him at rest, after she murdered him, and within four months she started dating young boys. Kate was mad about the idea of her living so care-free after Glen's death. She too all the money that Glen has in the Bank, Lazy took it away, she went back to England with her daughter and more money to take care of her business. In the long run,Lazy's British boyfriend, beat her and killed her. in London Subway. Lazy the murderer,  found out that what goes around comes around. Which means that the things one does which is evil, comes right back to destroys them.

GOOD TREE BRINGS ABOUT GOOD FRUITS

Matthew 7:18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit.

Matthew 12:35 The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in him, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in him.

A corrupt tree - The word "corrupt" here does not signify, as our translation would seem to indicate, that the tree "had been" good, but had become "vitiated;" but that it was a tree of a useless character, of a nature that produced nothing beneficial.

So every good tree - As the thorn can only produce thorns, not grapes; and the thistle, not figs, but prickles; so an unregenerate heart will produce fruits of degeneracy. As we perfectly know that a good tree will not produce bad fruit, and the bad tree will not, cannot produce good fruit, so we know that the profession of godliness, while the life is ungodly, is imposture, hypocrisy, and deceit. A man cannot be a saint and a sinner at the same time. Let us remember, that as the good tree means a good heart, and the good fruit, a holy life, and that every heart is naturally vicious; so there is none but God who can pluck up the vicious tree, create a good heart, plant, cultivate, water, and make it continually fruitful in righteousness and true holiness.
Grill Commentary
As is the tree, so is its fruit; if the tree is good, it will bring forth good fruit. The tree that brings forth good fruit, is good antecedent to the fruit it produces; it is first good, and then puts forth good fruit: it is not the fruit that makes the tree good, but makes it appear to be so; but it is the goodness of the tree that makes the fruit good. As a good man does, and will do good works, but his works do not make him a good man; he is so before he performs good works, or he would never be able to do them; these make him appear to be a good man: so a good preacher, that has an experimental knowledge of the doctrines of the Gospel, will deliver out sound doctrine, who is first made so by the gifts and graces of the Spirit of God; and by searching the Scriptures, and examining his doctrines by them, he will be known and appear to be a good minister of Jesus Christ, nourished up in the words of faith and good doctrine; and such a good minister of the Gospel, out of the good treasure of Gospel truths put into his earthen vessel, will bring forth, from time to time, good and excellent truths, to the edification and profit of those that hear: "but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit"; if the tree is corrupt, the fruit will be corrupt; and as is the preacher, so will be his doctrines: if he is a corrupt preacher, or a man of a corrupt mind, destitute of the truth, his preaching will be such as will tend to corrupt both the principles and practices of men; for such evil men and seducers, out of the evil treasure of false doctrines, which they have received into their judgments, will bring forth, either more secretly or openly, evil tenets in their ministry, which prove of bad consequence to the souls of men.
